Fortnite is distributing two free skins as part of its Fortnitemares 2026 celebration, which runs through October 31. Players can obtain the Jack-a-Nap skin by completing quests across multiple game modes, while the Gold Punk skin becomes available through a gift card redemption offer.
Obtaining the Jack-a-Nap Skin
The Jack-a-Nap skin unlocks after completing all 26 Fortnitemares 2026 Quests, which are distributed across three different modes. Players need to complete quests in Battle Royale or Zero Build, the Horde Rush limited-time mode, and Reload. As of update 42.30, only seven of the 26 quests are currently active, with Epic Games rolling out additional quests weekly throughout the month.
To pursue this skin, start matches in each of the three modes and work through the corresponding Nitemare Quests. The staggered release schedule gives players time to complete the challenges before they rotate out. Completing these quests also unlocks other rewards beyond the skin itself, making the progression worthwhile. Players can also pursue related activities during Fortnitemares, such as defeating the seven Fortnitemares Bosses, which include characters from the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise and Freddy Krueger.
Getting the Gold Punk Skin
The Gold Punk skin is available as a gift with purchase when redeeming a Fortnite gift card during the Fortnitemares period. This offer is region-specific, so players should verify availability before purchasing a card online.
To claim the skin, visit the Epic Games website and sign into the account where the skin should appear. Navigate to epicgames.com/redeem and enter the gift card's PIN code. After confirming the redemption, the credited amount will appear in the Epic Games account balance. Launch Fortnite and claim the Gold Punk skin from the account. The redemption process is instant, and the offer remains valid until October 31, 2026.
Both skins are exclusive to the Fortnitemares 2026 event period, though Epic Games has indicated that either skin could potentially appear in the Item Shop at a future date. Players interested in securing these cosmetics should complete their quests or redemptions before the October 31 deadline.
