Fortnite has added the Freddy Krueger skin as part of its Fortnitemares 2026 event, bringing the iconic horror villain to the Battle Royale island. The collaboration with the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise went live on October 2 following update 42.30.
The standalone Freddy Krueger skin costs 1,600 V-Bucks in the Item Shop. Players who want additional cosmetics from the collaboration can purchase the full Nightmare on Elm Street bundle for 2,300 V-Bucks, which includes the skin alongside other related items at a discounted rate compared to buying them separately.
How to Purchase the Skin
To acquire the Freddy Krueger skin, open Fortnite and navigate to the Item Shop tab. Search for the Nightmare on Elm Street section within the shop. You can then select either the individual Freddy Krueger skin or the complete bundle depending on your preference. After choosing your purchase, hold down the purchase button to complete the transaction. The cosmetics will then appear in your locker.
Freddy Krueger is one of seven Fortnitemares bosses that players can encounter and defeat on the island for high-tier loot, but acquiring the skin itself requires a V-Bucks purchase through the Item Shop rather than in-game challenges.
The collaboration marks a significant addition to Fortnitemares 2026, which has also featured Five Nights at Freddy's skins during the event. While both franchises have drawn player interest, the Freddy Krueger skin has generated considerable attention among the community.
Players interested in the skin should act quickly, as the Nightmare on Elm Street cosmetics will rotate out of the Item Shop on October 16, 2026 at 8 PM ET when Fortnitemares 2026 concludes. This provides a limited window for those wanting to add the horror icon to their collection.
