Developer Dreamware Media has announced Clipmatrix, an upcoming momentum platformer that turns the iconic 'bunny hopping' movement exploit from Source Engine titles into a standalone game experience.
In classic shooters such as Counter-Strike, bunny hopping involves chaining jumps and mid-air strafes to move faster than standard game limits allow. Clipmatrix adapts this mechanic into a pure platforming challenge, removing all shooting mechanics in favor of speed-focused traversal through surreal, industrial landscapes filled with floating concrete structures. Instead of firearms, players see low-resolution first-person arms holding items like knives or classic iPhones.
The game offers a 100-level main campaign alongside an endless race mode featuring 50 tracks that dynamically alter into non-linear loops. Designed with a strong social component, Clipmatrix supports massive multiplayer lobbies capable of hosting up to 250 runners on a single track, as well as a central hub for players to interact.
For players unfamiliar with advanced movement physics, the title includes a dedicated step-by-step tutorial covering strafe timing, momentum preservation, and speed techniques. Dreamware Media, the studio behind Hyperbeat and the upcoming pipedog, has made Clipmatrix available to wishlist on Steam.
