Bungie has introduced a new multi-map limited-time event called Ordnance Heist in Marathon, offering players a chance to obtain a temporary explosive power weapon. Running from August 18 until September 1, the event replaces the recently concluded Vault Breaker mode and forces players to complete a multi-step progression loop across several locations.
To participate, players must first deployment into the Perimeter zone to defeat higher-tier enemies for key templates and UESC Manifests. These manifests act as a currency that allows participants to acquire up to two key templates per day alongside other rare operational items. Once acquired, the templates require players to complete embedded tasks across both day and night variants of the Dire Marsh map. Successfully extracting from Dire Marsh converts each template into a Firestorm Locker key.
After gathering three locker keys, players must carry them into Perimeter, Dire Marsh, or Outpost to track down a Firestorm Locker. Because inventory is lost upon elimination, players face high risks from rival squads searching for the same container. Opening the locker rewards the squad with the Firestorm, marked as the game's first power weapon.
The Firestorm comes pre-equipped with a sniper scope, an explosive ammunition modification, and a strict six-round limit with no option to reload. Furthermore, the weapon cannot be stored for future deployments; extracting with the Firestorm automatically converts it into credits. After the Ordnance Heist event ends on September 1, the Firestorm will remain available as a rare drop from designated Supply Drops.
