Developer Jan Malitschek has announced TALON TOWERS, a new parkour platformer centered on navigating vast, crumbling structures that stretch high above a dense, infinite sea of fog. The upcoming title combines technical platforming mechanics with atmospheric, ancient architecture that leaves the origin of its massive spires unexplained.
Malitschek, who previously created the brutalist first-person climbing game BETON BRUTAL, is leading the project alongside two key collaborators. Quinn K. from Blanksword and Hyphinett, a contributor to the narrative game If Found, are working together with Malitschek to build the game's expansive world. The setting features complex, crisscrossing structures designed to test the player's traversal skills high above the mist.
Gameplay in TALON TOWERS focuses on flexible and expressive movement across tight perches where balance and timing are critical to survival. Players must carefully negotiate narrow platforms and precarious drops while making their way through each section of the towers.
The game provides a variety of movement mechanics to master during traversal:
- Running, crouching, crawling, and climbing along ledges
- Wall-running and wall-kicking to navigate vertical gaps
- Crossing tightropes and swinging from overhead monkey bars
- Taking control of a bird during specific gameplay sequences
In addition to environmental navigation, TALON TOWERS includes intense chase sequences where a mysterious shadowy figure actively pursues the player character through the ruins.
The title is currently available to wishlist on Steam, though the development team has not yet set a firm release date.
