Moon Studios head Thomas Maher has publicly shut down speculation regarding a third installment in the Ori franchise, confirming the studio is currently prioritizing its latest title.
Addressing reports that originated on forum site ResetEra and quickly spread across social media platforms, Maher clarified on X that claims of a new entry are entirely false. He noted that even franchise composer Gareth Coker inquired about a potential sequel during a recent visit, but the studio's resources are dedicated to their ongoing project.
Moon Studios remains fully focused on No Rest for the Wicked, an action-RPG that launched into early access in 2024. After addressing early performance issues, the title has steadily built a strong review score on Steam through consistent updates and is scheduled for its full version 1.0 release on PC and PlayStation 5 this October.
The Metroidvania series last expanded with 2020's Ori and the Will of the Wisps, which followed Ori and the Blind Forest. Despite past reports regarding studio management in 2022, which leadership rejected, Moon Studios has maintained its push toward completing its current action-RPG.
