Square Enix has announced that its upcoming HD-2D game Final Fantasy Resonance will be accompanied by an expansive 120-song original soundtrack releasing on October 28.
Launching one week after the game's official debut, the four-disc soundtrack collection features music produced by Noriyasu Agematsu. The release blends 33 brand-new compositions with 87 established tracks from the mobile titles Final Fantasy Brave Exvius and War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius.
The massive song list makes the album larger than several classic mainline entries. For context, digital soundtrack editions for Final Fantasy VII, VIII, and X feature 85, 73, and 89 tracks respectively. Square Enix confirmed dramatic track titles for the upcoming release, including "Leviathanomachy," "Break the Limit!," and "He Who Shoulders Umbral Darkness."
Physical CD pre-orders are now live across North America, Europe, and Japan. Final Fantasy Resonance converts the universe of Square Enix's former mobile RPGs into a single-player HD-2D adventure, exploring how the iconic franchise might have looked had it continued advancing pixel art past the 16-bit era.
