Kyiv-based independent studio Hello Andromeda has unveiled Fog'n'Silence, a dark open-world tactical RPG that tasks players with guiding a squad of survivors through a surreal Afterlife.
Drawing creative inspiration from titles such as Death Stranding, Kenshi, and Outer Wilds, the game blends party management, survival mechanics, and tactical combat within a grim, otherworldly landscape. Players observe and direct their group of survivors, known as Vagrants, using an overhead flying drone that offers a wide perspective of the bizarre terrain.
Survival in the Afterlife requires constant vigilance as players navigate hazards like shifting fog, blind monsters, and unusual physics. In addition to environmental threats, squads must handle severe physical injuries, food shortages, and deteriorating sanity. Each run begins with three Vagrants, but players can expand their party by recruiting additional humans, pack animals, and machines. While larger teams provide more skills and inventory space, they also consume more supplies and draw more attention from hostiles.
When combat occurs, Fog'n'Silence utilizes a freeze-time system where players and enemies program their moves before executing them simultaneously. The game also features roguelike progression: when a party fails, players retain cross-run knowledge, quest progress, and character relationships via an ongoing in-game Compendium.
The project was officially announced during Steam's Ukrainian Games Festival.
