Rockstar Games recently provided an extensive preview of Grand Theft Auto 6, yet the studio notably left computer players uncertain about whether the upcoming action-adventure title will arrive on PC at launch.
The developer unveiled its GTA 6 Extended Look presentation on August 27, giving fans a fresh glimpse at gameplay recorded on a PlayStation 5 console. Built on the proprietary Rockstar Advanced Game Engine (RAGE), the demonstration spotlighted the sun-soaked metropolis of Vice City alongside the story's dual protagonists, Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval. The footage featured classic open-world elements, including intense police pursuits and chaotic gunfights.
Despite the comprehensive nature of the demonstration, Rockstar made no mention of a PC build during the event. Grand Theft Auto 6 remains firmly scheduled for a November 19 release, but currently lists only the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as launch platforms. This silence has raised concerns among PC players who face the choice of purchasing expensive console hardware or waiting indefinitely.
Delayed computer ports have historically been standard practice for the developer. Grand Theft Auto 5 took a lengthy 19 months to transition from consoles to PC, while Red Dead Redemption 2 required a 12-month wait. On the shorter end of the spectrum, Max Payne reached computer screens just 14 days after its original console debut.
Computer gamers are hoping for a brief window similar to Max Payne, as a multi-year delay would be a major disappointment. For now, console owners can rest assured that the November 19 target remains intact, while PC players must continue waiting for official word from the developer.
