Developer Rebel Wolves has confirmed that its upcoming vampire action RPG, The Blood of Dawnwalker, will feature a 60fps Performance Mode on current-generation consoles at launch.
The update follows community backlash after an initial technical showcase highlighted only a 30fps Quality Mode and a 40fps Balanced Mode, both targeting dynamic 4K resolution on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. The absence of a standard 60fps target drew criticism from players, prompting the studio to address performance expectations.
According to a statement from Rebel Wolves, a 60fps option was already undergoing internal testing prior to the initial showcase, though the team was hesitant to promise it before verifying stability. Spurred by player reactions, the developers accelerated their testing process to ensure the mode could be finalized in time for the game's release via a day-one patch.
The newly confirmed Performance Mode will target 60fps on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, and Xbox Series X. The studio noted that the PS5 Pro edition will also benefit from additional visual upgrades, while the less powerful Xbox Series S will remain limited to 30fps.
The Blood of Dawnwalker is scheduled to launch on September 3 across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
