Acclaimed game designer Hideo Kojima has confirmed he has no intention of stepping away from interactive entertainment after recently celebrating his 63rd birthday. In a post shared on social media, the creator of the Metal Gear Solid and Death Stranding franchises reflected on balancing his growing list of creative ambitions with limited time, ultimately stating his desire to focus his energy on game development.
The reflection comes as Kojima reaches major career milestones, marking 40 years since he began working in the video game industry and the 10th anniversary of establishing his independent studio, Kojima Productions. To celebrate the studio's decade of operation, Kojima Productions is scheduled to host a dedicated exhibition at Tokyo's Azabudai Hills Gallery running from late October through the end of the year.
While Kojima has previously expressed interest in exploring mediums such as filmmaking, his primary focus remains on his active studio pipeline. Kojima Productions is currently developing several projects, including the experimental horror title OD and an upcoming stealth-action game tentatively titled Physint.
