A leaked work-in-progress trailer for EA Motive's upcoming Marvel's Iron Man video game has surfaced online, offering the first look at early combat mechanics, character designs, and environments.
The video, which initially appeared on the ResetEra discussion forum, carries an "Aug26" timestamp, suggesting it was created fairly recently. Edited in the style of an early promotional video or an internal presentation, the clip relies on unfinished visual assets and includes humorous placeholder details, such as crediting the Hulk as the project's world director.
Several distinct environments are showcased throughout the footage, including New York City, a location featuring a Chicago sign, a Japanese setting filled with bamboo forests, and the crowded exterior deck of a S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier. Brief cutscenes mimic iconic moments from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, such as the dynamic heads-up display surrounding Tony Stark's face. Early character models for key supporting figures, including Pepper Potts and Colonel James Rhodes, also make brief appearances.
In terms of gameplay, the video highlights a blend of aerial movement and combat mechanics that draw comparisons to modern superhero titles like Marvel's Spider-Man. However, this game focuses heavily on ranged technology, depicting Iron Man hovering above ground, firing wrist-mounted missiles, and unleashing palm-repulsor blasts alongside physical melee combinations against enemy forces.
Electronic Arts originally announced the single-player Iron Man title in 2022 as part of a planned multi-game deal with Marvel. The project is completely separate from an earlier Iron Man title by Avalanche Studios that was canceled years ago.
Since the project's initial reveal, EA's ongoing Marvel plans have seen changes, including the reported cancellation of an unannounced Black Panther title. Corporate restructuring and recent acquisition deals have also raised broader questions among industry observers regarding EA's upcoming release calendar. EA has not publicly commented on the leaked video.
