Toei Animation has confirmed that the upcoming anime remake Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will officially premiere on Fuji TV on October 11. Ahead of its Japanese television broadcast, attendees at New York Comic Con 2026 will get an exclusive early look, with the first episode set to screen on October 8 during a dedicated convention panel.
Alongside the timing announcement, the studio released a comprehensive preview clip dubbed the "super surge trailer." The promotional video highlights modernized visual production and outlines the exact narrative scope for the project. Dragon Ball Super: Beerus is set to adapt three major storylines: the God of Destruction Beerus arc, the Resurrection 'F' arc, and the God of Destruction Champa arc.
This coverage encompasses the events previously depicted in the first two Dragon Ball Super feature films, Battle of Gods and Resurrection 'F', as well as the initial 46 episodes of the original television series without filler content. The trailer also highlighted key artistic adjustments that refine canon continuity. For example, during Goku's battle against Frieza, the protagonist briefly assumes his Super Saiyan God transformation prior to reaching Super Saiyan Blue, a form transition omitted from the original Resurrection 'F' movie.
The preview also introduced fresh musical themes for the series, replacing classic tracks like "Chosetsu Dynamic!". The new opening song, "Onogami," is performed by Megatera – Zero, while the closing credits will feature "Kan Peki No Peki" by artist VK Blanka. These contemporary tracks are intended to bring a revamped atmosphere to the project while maintaining high energy levels.
In Japan, the anime will occupy the Fuji TV broadcast slot typically used by One Piece. Because One Piece recently transitioned to a seasonal schedule consisting of 26 episodes per year, the two popular franchises are expected to rotate time slots throughout the broadcast calendar. Western streaming availability is anticipated on Crunchyroll shortly after the Japanese television debut.
The North American debut panel at New York Comic Con will feature prominent English voice cast members, including Jason Douglas (Beerus), Ian Sinclair (Whis), and Monica Rial (Bulma). While Toei Animation is also working on a separate adaptation of the Galactic Patrol Moro arc, it remains unconfirmed whether that storyline will immediately follow the conclusion of Dragon Ball Super: Beerus.
