Indie developer Coldblood Inc. has officially moved the release window for its upcoming pixel-art horror life simulator, Neverway, to 2027.
The small studio—led by three primary developers alongside a few collaborators, including an artist behind Celeste and the composer of Fez—announced the timeline shift in a recent Steam update. The team explained that positive player reception to the prologue and internal testing encouraged them to expand early chapters and environments. Taking the extra time ensures the game achieves its full potential without undergoing any additional scope inflation.
To soften the news of the delay, the developers shared fresh insights into the game's mechanics and world. Neverway will feature 20 characters following more than 250 unique daily routines. Among these cast members, players will have the option to romance 12 distinct characters.
Building these social bonds will play a central role in how the story unfolds. Coldblood Inc. confirmed that the game will feature multiple endings tied directly to character relationships. Instead of relying on conventional penalizing endings, the studio aims to craft alternative conclusions that offer different thematic viewpoints depending on player choices. Players eager for a preview can currently access a demo and add Neverway to their Steam wishlist.
