Developer Cold Symmetry has issued an early patch for Mortal Shell 2 to resolve technical issues, including a bug that allowed players to disarm and take weapons from enemies during counterattacks.
The hotfix arrived during the game's advanced access phase ahead of its official public debut on August 20. Among the fixed issues was an unintended glitch triggered during ripostes, where players performing counter-strikes accidentally acquired their opponents' high-tier weaponry, such as heavy halberds.
The update also fixes overall performance, stability, and crash bugs. Notably, it resolves a user interface freeze connected to the Slayer Seal, an item that serves as an accessible gameplay mode by allowing ranged attacks to inflict Break damage on foes. Successfully filling an enemy's Break meter leaves them open to critical counter-attacks.
In response to player feedback regarding a perceived difficulty increase compared to earlier beta tests, developers confirmed that while initial combat encounters remain unchanged, certain endgame boss fights have been adjusted to be more challenging. A comprehensive balance patch is scheduled to release alongside the game's official launch on August 20.
