Developer Retrostyle has launched a comprehensive quality-of-life update for its physics-based co-op comedy-horror title, Last Pirates: Die Together, ahead of the game's planned 2027 full launch.
The patch, released on September 1, 2026, brings numerous performance adjustments and gameplay enhancements following the game's initial launch period. Among the most notable features is an overhauled save system that now saves player progress at the end of every in-game day, replacing the previous system that only saved at the end of entire chapters.
Combat and difficulty balance have also seen major reworks. Monster strength has been reduced to make solo gameplay more accessible, while large environment objects are now lighter and easier for players to carry. Additionally, the developers updated the voice-chat functionality, replacing a simple toggle with three distinct settings: always active, push-to-talk, and toggle-to-talk.
Matchmaking and content additions formed another key part of the patch. Public lobbies are now configured as the default setting to help players form crews more quickly. The update also introduces a new large breakable object called "The Titanic" on Ship levels, allowing players to dismantle and transport it in pieces.
Handheld players on the Steam Deck received targeted bug fixes addressing on-screen keyboard usage and menu navigation. Mouse sensitivity options are now automatically hidden from the settings menu whenever a gamepad is connected to the device.
To mark the release of the update, Retrostyle is offering a 20 percent discount alongside a special in-game event. Furthermore, all players can temporarily skip early progression and access later areas like the Ship and Castle environments without clearing the Mansion first, a promotion available through September 9, 2026.
