Iconic video game hero Spyro the Dragon has officially joined Fortnite as a cosmetic Sidekick companion available in the game's Item Shop. Introduced as part of an ongoing crossover event, the classic purple character offers players a fierce and loyal partner to accompany them into battle.
The Spyro the Dragon Sidekick made its debut on August 28, 2026, coinciding with the standard Item Shop reset at 8:00 PM ET. Included under the Gaming Legends category for the Override season, the cosmetic item can be purchased individually for 1,500 V-Bucks within the dedicated Sidekicks section.
In addition to the standalone offering, Epic Games has bundled Spyro alongside another classic gaming character, Crash Bandicoot. Players can purchase the combined Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon Bundle for 3,000 V-Bucks, which grants a discounted rate on both items. While the bundle offers good savings, players who want to conserve their digital currency for other major releases—such as the Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 Battle Pass—can choose to purchase only the dragon.
Acquiring Spyro opens up additional in-game progression systems for players. By equipping the loyal dragon companion, users can actively earn Sidekick Points as they participate in matches, which in turn unlocks a selection of bonus rewards. Outside of cosmetic progression, players looking for an added tactical advantage during Battle Royale encounters can also utilize Fortnite Lobby Hack codes to obtain Sprites for competitive gameplay.
Securing the new companion is a straightforward process within the game's interface. Players must launch Fortnite, navigate to the Item Shop tab, and locate the prominent Crash Bandicoot and Sidekicks storefront area near the top. From there, players can choose between the standalone 1,500 V-Buck option or the discounted 3,000 V-Buck bundle, holding down the purchase button until the transaction prompt completes. After receiving the in-game notification, Spyro will be immediately available in the locker for selection and customization.
As with most high-profile Gaming Legends cosmetics in Fortnite, Spyro's store presence is temporary. The Spyro the Dragon Sidekick is scheduled to depart from the Fortnite Item Shop on September 11, 2026, at 8:00 PM ET, leaving players a limited window to add the fiery purple companion to their personal cosmetic collections.
