A recent information leak has allegedly uncovered details surrounding 14 playable characters from FromSoftware’s upcoming multiplayer game, The Duskbloods. The project, which is being developed as an exclusive title for the Nintendo Switch 2, features eight-player player-versus-player-versus-environment (PvPvE) gameplay. Breaking away from the studio's traditional design, the game omits a standard single-player campaign in favor of competitive, blood-themed combat set against a gothic horror backdrop.
As closed network tests and initial gameplay previews get underway, data extracted from the title reveals a cast of grotesque figures known as the Bloodsworn. Each character possesses distinct traits and abilities linked to physical deformities, diseases, or blood manipulations. Among the roster is Gillian the Guillotine, a heavily mutated executioner who carries a massive iron blade and seeks an elusive substance named the Blood of the Beginning. Another entry, Veronica the Foul-Rot, is an abandoned blind nun whose blistered skin leaves a trail of infectious decay across the battlefield.
The leaked details highlight several other unconventional combatants with disturbing playstyles. Walter the Blood Eater relies on a heightened sense of smell to track opponents and expose their vulnerabilities, driven to insanity by his pursuit of pure blood. Sebastian the Nail-Pierced operates as a self-sacrificing fanatic who drives silver spikes into his own flesh to cast miraculous offensive spells. Meanwhile, Maurice the Coffin-Bearer carries a heavy casket containing a mysterious, monstrous entity connected to his lineage into battle.
Further entries demonstrate the varied mechanic designs planned for the multiplayer title. Oscar the Thread-Torn functions as a disturbed taxidermist who grafts enemy flesh onto himself to repair damage, eventually morphing into an ancient beast. Ulan the Mud Treader uses poisonous blood oozing from her lower extremities to control territory and block enemy pathways. In contrast, Isabel the Candle-Snuffer utilizes dark shadows to siphon foe blood while manipulating light sources around the arena.
Rounding out the leaked selection are Randolph the Gut-Rinner and Yuri the Gazer of Flesh. Randolph utilizes a mechanized flight harness alongside a heavy spear to maneuver overhead, offering dynamic aerial movement options. Yuri, a heretical figure who severed his own eyelids, uses an intense stare to accelerate enemy blood flow, causing opponents to detonate if held in his line of sight. While FromSoftware has not officially verified the leak, the details offer a vivid look into the unusual design direction of their upcoming Switch 2 release.
