A massive fan-made modification titled "Red Dead Redemption 2: Nuevo Paraiso" will bring the Mexican territory into the wild west action game on September 16.
Created by prominent community developer Rixus724, the upcoming release represents one of the most detailed efforts to incorporate the southern region into the 2018 title. While the official map includes northern areas from the original game, such as New Austin and West Elizabeth, it originally omitted the Mexican landscapes featured in the first Red Dead Redemption.
Set during the game's 1907 timeline, the mod integrates the state of Nuevo Paraíso into the main game world. According to the developer, the expansion focuses on a region experiencing political instability and societal transformation under a strict regime. Players will be able to navigate small towns, active railways, isolated ranches, and hostile territory.
Gameplay additions include new secrets, mysteries, train robberies, and enemy hideouts scattered across expanded borders. A preview trailer showcasing the mod included appearances from key narrative figures John Marston and Sadie Adler.
Upon its launch on September 16, the expansion will be available for download via Nexus Mods. Players attempting to install the addition will require a PC copy of the base game alongside technical prerequisites such as RDR2 Script Hook.
