Wizards of the Coast has fully detailed its upcoming Masters of the Universe Secret Lair Superdrop for Magic: The Gathering, which is scheduled to launch on Monday, September 14, 2026. Initially previewed at MagicCon Amsterdam, this crossover collection consists of five separate bundles featuring rethemed card reprints with original artwork from the classic franchise. Despite drawing mixed reactions from the player community regarding its fit within Magic's universe, the limited-time release brings several iconic characters and items to the collectible card game.
Purchasing for the drop follows the standard Secret Lair queue process. Interested buyers can access a pre-queue waiting room starting at 8:00 AM PT to build their shopping baskets. At 9:00 AM PT, the queue will be randomized to determine checkout order, meaning early arrival in the pre-queue does not guarantee a top spot. Individual bundles are priced at $29.99 for nonfoil sets and $39.99 for foil versions, alongside larger comprehensive mega-bundles designed for easier bulk ordering.
The drop features two character-focused packs centered on the franchise's central rivalries. The "By the Power of Grayskull" bundle contains five cards, including He-Man, Champion of Eternia (Winota, Joiner of Forces), Orko, Trollan Magician (Delina, Wild Mage), Man-at-Arms, Master Tactician (Bruenor Battlehammer), He-Man's Battle Harness (Konda's Banner), and a reskinned Crackle with Power. Meanwhile, the villainous "Nyah-Ha-Ha!" pack delivers Skeletor, Lord of Destruction (Tinybones, the Pickpocket), Skeletor's Villainous Glee (Tasha's Hideous Laughter), Evil Warriors' Shroud (Necrogen Mists), Rally the Evil Warriors (Breach the Multiverse), and Bottomless Pit.
Heroic defenders receive further representation across two additional sets. The "She-Ra, Princess Of Power" collection includes six cards, highlighted by She-Ra, Princess of Power (Sisay, Weatherlight Captain), Swift Wind, Steed of She-Ra (Emiel the Blessed), Bow, Master Archer (Hajar, Loyal Bodyguard), Catra, Force Captain (Kutzil, Malamet Exemplar), Silence, and a staple Sol Ring. Similarly, the "Allies And Enemies Of Eternia" bundle provides six cards, showcasing Man-E-Faces (Sakashima the Impostor), Beast Man (Kona, Rescue Beastie), Evil-Lyn (Ertai Resurrected), The Sorceress (Derevi, Emphyrial Tactician), Teela (Samut, Voice of Dissent), and Trap Jaw (Tetsuo, Imperial Champion).
Rounding out the collection is the "Sold Separately" pack, themed after retro toy marketing. It features Battle Cat (Fortune, Loyal Steed), Panthor (The Gitrog, Ravenous Ride), Bone Throne (Throne of the God-Pharaoh), Sword of Power (Sword of War and Peace), and a full-art Command Tower land. Additionally, shoppers who spend $149 or more will receive a special promotional card of Swan Song featuring art inspired by the viral He-Man meme.
